CORREIA is a century old house facing a new chapter inside the same family. A house from the Porto bourgeoisie that during decades divided the space with a carpentry woodshop. Materials and heavy machinery quarreled with plaster walls, stucco works and marbleized paintings. The relation with the garden had been compromised ever since.
Therefore it is an exercise of subtraction, criterion and depuration. Specific interventions are done to its current expression, complementing needs with contemporary options. Its typology remains the same, while the program is distributed through the existing and untouched compartments. This functional clarification leads to generous spaces, finally allowing the house to live the back garden.
